training

SHI offers both in-person and online trainings in our Listening with Curiosity Project (LCP) framework and method. Across all trainings, our mode of learning is experiential and practice-based. Below is an overview of the content of our online trainings:

Teaser Training:
(one, 2-hour session)

  • Orientation to the Crisis of Connection framework
  • Overview of the skills of Transformative Interviewing
  • Interview demonstration
  • Partner interviews
  • Small group coached interviews (live supervision provided by Trainer)
  • Group reflection and debrief

 

Introductory Training:
(4 hours; two, 2-hour sessions)

  • Orientation to the Crisis of Connection framework
  • Introduction to the skills of Relational Intelligence (RQ)
  • Focused partner interview practice with the skills of Transformative Interviewing
  • Between-sessions interviewing + reflection homework assignment
  • Trainer-led small group interview practice
  • Collective debriefs

 

Comprehensive Training:
(8 hours; four, 2-hour sessions; recommended for organizations who intend to partner with SHi to integrate the LCP into their programming)

  • Orientation to the Science of Human Connection and presentation of the Crisis of Connection framework
  • Intensive training in the Transformative Interviewing method and skills of Relational Intelligence (RQ), including additional partner interviews, group interviews, and trainer-guided interviews with live supervision
  • Group reflections and discussions, including video analysis
  • Between-sessions interview + reflection homework assignments
  • Interview-based participant mini presentations during the final session

 

Following the training, our goal is to work with your organization to help develop a customized plan for its integration in your school or organizational setting. For those who are trained in our model, we also offer additional training to become a coach for SHI as we aim to create a self-sustaining model whereby organizational leaders train and coach their own employees.

curriculum development

SHI also offers customized curriculum development and licensing to organizations, allowing for the adaptation of the core Listening with Curiosity Project (LCP) content for a variety of school and organizational settings.

Settings for which we can develop programming and curricula include (but are not limited to!):

  • Advisory
  • Classroom settings
    • The LCP has been has been adapted for a variety of classroom settings including but not limited to: english, science, social studies, and kindergarten classrooms, and as a college-level course
  • Student clubs
  • School-wide initiatives
  • After-school and out-of-school time programs

coaching

For those organizations who have participated in SHI’s training and are implementing a customized version of the LCP curriculum within their organization, SHI offers on-going remote coaching sessions to support  implementation.

evaluation

A necessary component of SHI is the evaluation of the implementation of the SHI training and/or a customized version of the LCP curriculum. Thus, we require organizations who use our approach to distribute standardized research to participants.
